Talking about Tim in the past tense just feels wrong. I am still numb at the news that Tim isn't around. He's one of those people who I just assumed would live forever. Less than 4 weeks ago we were organising dates for the next of our regular lunch meet-ups, and we had made so many plans for all sorts of Cult TV related shenanigans in the coming months and years.
We first met in 2007, introduced to each other by another Network stalwart Simon Wells (who himself has only recently passed away), and when I invited him to Portmeirion that year to be a guest at an Unmutual Website Prisoner event to showcase Network's 'The Prisoner' box set, he was nothing less than totally generous both with his time, and resources. We struck it off immediately and a 15-year friendship followed, during which time his generosity never waned. Whether at one of our regular lunches, film shows at his wonderful home, or getting together at events either myself or Network had put together, Tim will forever live on in my memory. He was described as a 'force of nature' and I would agree with that. He was a kind, generous, rip-roaringly funny, and loyal friend who I'll greatly miss. I am still in a state of shock that I won't see him again.
I hope that we can all join together to celebrate a wonderful life lived. Through all those who he has deeply touched - and through the legacy of Network - he can and will live on.
