I Have A Story About That

Created by Phil one year ago
I first met Tim over the phone. I had recently departed another distributor, and a mutual contact said that we should talk – he thought we would get along.

The mobile reception in my house is less than stellar – so we agreed to talk over the landline – which in my case is a reproduction of one of the old standard GPO rotary phones. It was one of the first things we talked about, before talking about watching too much TV in our youth, politics, world cinema – oh and some stuff about work as well. Tim invited me for a second interview at TV Centre, which led to yet another memory, this time about the building itself – “I have a story about that” Tim said – one of many it would turn out.

From the moment I joined Network, Tim showed me nothing but kindness and support. He was always there as wise counsel, an ear if I needed and a pep talk as required. I think it's fair to say a lot has happened over the last four years – but at every step I always knew that Tim was a phone call away. He gave me so much and asked for little in return. I am humbled to have had the time working with him that I did.

There are no words to mark the impact of his passing, and to be honest, I still can't process it, it just doesn’t make sense that I won’t get to see him again. The world is suddenly a duller place and I will miss him dearly.
